Wish List

It's the time of the year again. It's the only time of the year that requires a wish list. Christmas is a time of giving and sharing. People give for many reasons and sometimes receiving isn't always as pleasant as giving. I spend countless hours trying to figure out what everyone needs and wants. I'm sure they do the same. And how often do we get gifts that are of no use to us. I feel that if we are to give a gift to someone it should be of great significance to them. That is the reason why a sincere wish list is of great importance before Christmas.

Wish lists are getting shorter but more complicated to figure out. Some wish lists have limits on the amount and other wish list do not have a limit on the amount of the gift. I know I look forward to the wish list every year because it saves a lot of my time figuring out what everyone wants. Having a wish list means it will make shopping easier but it doesn't guarantee that the process to making the decision of purchasing the gift will be easier. This year we decided that we will not set a limit on the gift and instead of buying gifts for each and everyone in the family, we would participate in Secret Santa.

Many of the time we focus so much on what to buy and what to get the other person that we forget about the little things that matter, the fact that the family gets to spend time together and or the smiles and joy the holiday brings. The holiday is more meaningful when people are honest about what they what. Sometimes it's the little things that matters a great deal to the other person. For example my girlfriend's father wants help with fixing the broken patio door and her mother would like help cleaning the chicken house and the nest pads. I'm sure getting the pati0 door fixed would matter more to him then getting a flat screen TV. It can be the most expensive item on the list or the least expensive, it all comes down to the process behind the gift. It's not the gift that counts, it's the thought that counts. When people can be honest about what they want then every day is a gift. Such as receiving this wish list is gift because it brought a smile to my life.

Thoughts: Goals and Dreams

Dreams and goals? No matter what age we are, or at what stage of life we find ourselves in, we all need goals and we all have dreams to chase after! We all have dreams and goals because we need direction, we need control, we need motivation and energy, and we need decisions in order to become a better person and to be able to give back and contributed to the community.

Goals provide us with directions because we know what we are aiming for, we take control of our life and not controlled by the situations, but by what we want to achieve. Goals also motivates us because we know that the end results will be rewarding therefore we gain more energy that's why we tried so hard to achieve what we are shooting for. The most important thing about having goals and dreams to chase after is becoming a better decision maker. We spend so much time thinking about what we want but we can't decided what we really want with our life because there are too many things we want. To finally take that step and choose what's important to us and approached it is the first and most important thing we can do in setting up goals with a plan behind it to reached that goal.

Some people have big goals and dreams and some have small goals and dreams. Some wants to be doctors, lawyers, president, etc. and some just want to work a simple job all their life. We constantly chase our dreams and work so hard to reached our goals everyday. We sometime we forget to live life and enjoyed life. What we all need to remember is that no matter what our goals and dreams are, we should not forget about the little things. Live life and enjoyed life because when time is gone, it is really gone.
